Dr. DalCanton is trained to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders. Using a drug-free, hands on approach to restoring health, he uses gentle spinal manipulation, therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, along with advice on nutritional and lifestyle change to relieve pain, restore function and stimulate the body to heal itself.
Each year, more than 30 million Americans visit licensed chiropractors as part of their routine health care. Chiropractic care aids in correcting postural imbalances and structural misalignment that accumulate over time. Dr. DalCanton will gently and precisely apply corrective pressure to your spine with his hands in a technique referred to as a chiropractic adjustment. This manual pressure restores alignment and mobility to the vertebrae as well as other joints of the body. This allows allows muscles surrounding the joint to relax and heal as well as relieving nerve interference which can improve your overall health and wellness!
Does A Chiropractic Adjustment Hurt?
At our office, we make every effort to insure our adjustments do NOT cause pain. In fact, in most instances, the adjustments will provide instant relief. It is rare that adjustments cause pain when administered at our office. Sometimes patients will experience mild soreness or increased discomfort after a treatment. This usually resolves over the next 12 hours or so.
Is Chiropractic Safe?
Recognized throughout the medical world as one of the safest drug-free, non invasive treatments, chiropractic has a 120 year history of providing relief to patients. As with any medical procedure, there is a slight risk of mild adverse effect. Research shows that the occurrence rate of more serious complications is even more unlikely. Clinical reports show adverse reactions in about 1 in 5.85 million cervical spine manipulations. Chiropractic demonstrates less risk than other common medical treatments for neuromuscular disorders such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS).
